A sign of progress?

I find a little humerous the notion that I could measure my progress as a woodworker by how many times I’ve had to empty the dust collecter. The more I use hand tools, of course, the less it has to do with anything.

But here it is. For excitement this morning I emptied the DC, which had needed it for quite a while. I think this was the second time in about ten years?  That’s only good if I’ve been making tons of shavings instead.

I think its also interesting to see what kind of wood is in there. This looked to be all pine except for a little dusting of walnut and cherry on the top.
The walnut and cherry was from Jeff a couple weekends ago because he’s much more classy like that.
