The Minnesota Woodworker’s Guild held it’s annual show in April. For the second time in three years a woodworker who’s been highly influenced by James Krenov (Krenovian) won best in show. It started in 2010 with Craig Johnson. This year Nicholas Nelson won the top prize. Both are very nice guys who went through the craftsman program at Inside Passage School of Fine Cabinetmaking. It’s a nice trend for the show, in my opinion, after having the top awards dominated by one guy for several years.
At the time of this writing the photos of the 2012 award-winning pieces are not yet online. So here’s the link to the galleries of the winners from all the years that are online. The gallery for 2012 should be added soon.
Finally, here’s the link to the 2012 show catalog (pdf).
